I think both Tony and Tobias Sammet once said something like "I make music I like and hope someone out there will also enjoy it" and I'm fine with that. WBPO 2 I enjoy, but the mix doesn't do it justice. Life is a great song to end live shows, Fly Navigate Communicate is really good, and On The Faultline reminded me why I still love Sonata. Production is again really trashy, but the compositions I like far more than PC. Worst thing they've ever put out.ĩthH I liked quite a lot. I think Destruction Preventer and Picturing the Past just sound better in a lower key, but the production is borderline amateurish so it's worthless. The mix/mastering is atrocious.Įcliptica 2014 should be illegal to sell. I'll take the WDYDINWD/Half a Marathon Man/X Marks the spot trio, but everything else I either don't care for or just really hate. I really hate I Have a Right (musically, lyrically it's fine), and Shitload of Money, but I think I really like the rest of the album. SGHN I enjoy a lot more than most people. It's a dense album, but it's much more focused than the second half of UNIA. I enjoy most of TDOG, and Deathaura is my all time favorite SA opener for an album. The second half feels thematically lost, but I like the album overall. WHG and RN are absolute masterpieces imho. I can't for the life of me stand Last Drop Falls and The End of this Chapter. Silence has very high highs and very low lows. I don't mega-love it like a lot of people. I feel it covers all moods and I appreciate thatĮcliptica is fine. I just like the variety spread kit across the discography. I’m a massive Metallica fan so I’m used to hearing the same thing about them. I get why some people don’t like the transitions. Still better than a lot of other bands but not good compared to what we know this band is capable of.Įcliptica, Silence, winterheart’s Guild, reckoning night, and unia are basically masterpieces. On the fault line is my favorite track of the album. WOBO2 was a massive disappointment to me. I think Tony’s voice was done no justice on this album. Unfortunately, this is the one album I really don’t care for. Every track except running lights I really love.
I definitely don’t get the hate for this album as I think it’s an extremely fun album to listen too. Don’t be mean and alone in heaven are also very solid tracks. Tonight I dance alone is another sad but awesome track. Certain tracks like broken hearts, shitload of money, and I have a right I can take or leave to be honest. I can see why some wouldn’t like this album but I can’t help but love it. And everything fades to gray is just incredibly moving. Deathaura is one of the greatest tracks they’ve ever made, period. Breathing has helped me deal with some dark times, same with the dead skin. Last amazing Grays (especially the live in Finland version) is a great song. The Days of Grays I think is a very very good album. I’ll give my thoughts and I’d like to hear yours. Saying Tony writes dad music now and lost his lyrical creativity and many other things. Was over on r/powermetal and I saw so many people bashing Sonata from “Days of Grays” till now.
